Clarissa Markham thinks Jed Dunleavy is a kind man, but when night falls, he is anything but what he seems.
Thus begins Clarissa’s journey to restore Muddy Puddle Farm and to uncover Confederate gold rumored to be buried there. She encounters feral cats that guard one of the stalls in the barn. Is that where it’s buried? Paranormal activity in the farmhouse offers clues that may or may not relate to the gold, but to something else entirely.
Clarissa’s road to fulfilling her dream is plagued with danger. This story has something for everyone. Murder? Yes. Treasure? Got it. Romance? Maybe. Mass burials? Yup. Justice? You decide.
